Ghanaian actress Yvonne Nelson has revealed that if the recent powers outages is not fixed soon, she will lead another star studded demonstration.
Yvonne Nelson took to Twitter to reveal her intentions as she wrote; “#DUMSORMUSTSTOP !!!! We are gonna hit the streets soon if it doesn’t stop!”
Yvonne Nelson, on May 16, 2015, led a #DumsorMustStop campaign which saw some celebrities including Afia Schwarzenegger, Wanlov Kubolor, Van Vicker, Prince David Osei, Efya, DKB, Barima Sidney and D-Black hit the streets of Accra.
It will be recalled that Ghanaian comedian, DKB, in a Facebook video also gave the Power Distribution Services (PDS) a one-week ultimatum to fix the recent power outages, also known as “dumsor”. He threatened that he will embark on a demonstration exercise if things don’t change.
In the video, the comedian explained that he can’t keep on buying fuel for his generator every day due to dumsor.
“We thought ECG was horrible… now the new one is Proper Dumsor or Permanent Dumsor, I don’t even know what their name is. 50 cedis fuel gone already to power generator, now I’m on my way to buy another one. Am I supposed to be using my money to buy fuel?” he quizzed.
“Honestly, if this darkness continues for one week, nobody should blame me if I do the dumsor demonstration again. Because I don’t belong to any political party so if you mess up, me I go hammer you. I don’t owe anybody an apology,” he stated.
