“Gringo” hitmaker Shatta Wale has been fingered in a scandal that is developing, as a US based Ghanaian woman has accused him of defrauding her.
According to a video making the rounds on social media, the woman who identified herself as Emmanuella Ofori accused the dancehall king of defrauding her to the tune of $45,000 (GHC 223, 000).
Emmanuella explained that she wanted to get married and wanted a grand ceremony so she contacted Shatta Wale on Facebook. Shatta Wale then gave her his WhatsApp number so that they could do further discussions so as to finalize the deal.
She noted that during discussions, Shatta asked her not to pay the money through his record label, Zylofon Media because they pay him peanuts. He added that he also needed money to buy himself out of his contract with Zylofon, therefore, she should deal directly with him.
After some time, they became friends and Shatta one day informed her that he wanted to move his bank money from United Kingdom to USA so he needed some money to aid the bank with the transfer. And according to Emmanuella, she fell for the scam and transferred a huge sum of $45,000 to the artist.
And now, Shatta Wale has cut every ties with her and blocked her on all social media platforms. She then ended the video by playing an audio conversation she had with Shatta Wale.
