The year 2018 was good for Ghana music as most Ghanaian exports featured on top international shows with a few others picking up both local and international awards.
And on Spotify, Sarkodie, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy have released the analytical overview of their performances on music streaming platform Spotify. And here is how they fared.
Leader of Sark Natives, Sarkodie seems to be leading the race as he got a whopping 9 million streams on the platform with 1 million fans spending 602 hours to enjoy his music from 65 different countries across the globe. Take note, he released his “Highest” album last year and this contributed to him making it big on Spotify.
Shatta Wale also garnered 6 million streams from 582K fans from 65 different countries spending 333K hours listening to his song from “Gringo” to “Zylofon” to “All eyes on me” to “Amount” and then the later release of his “Reign” album.
Stonebwoy did not do bad as well as his songs were streamed 4 million times by 327K fans in 65 different countries are well. These 4 million streams were gotten from 246K hours spent by his fans. Stonebwoy was well travelled in 2018 and played big shows including Reggae Sumfest in Jamaica.
Congratulations to these 3 artistes but we pray that more people listen to our music from more countries in 2019.
