One person confirmed dead as Veep Bawumia’s convoy gets involved in accident

Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia (Vice President of the Republic of Ghana)

The convoy of the Vice President of the Republic of Ghana, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has been involved in an accident around the Beposo area in the Western Region of Ghana. One person has been confirmed dead. 

The deceased was the driver of an Urvan bus that reportedly ran into one of the vehicles in the convoy, causing the accident around 6:30pm on Saturday 15th February 2019.

Other passengers and security personnel who got injured in the accident have been conveyed to the Cape Coast Regional Hospital for treatment.

The Vice President escaped unhurt. He was in the Western Region today and was returning to Accra when the unfortunate accident occurred.
