Pope Francis has used an unusual medium to beg Sudanese to maintain peace and order in this country.
The religious leader actually knelt down and kissed their feet after a retreat at the Vatican on Thursday, April 11, 2019.
The Pope, who is obviously not happy about the the inability of the South Sudanese leaders to maintain peace in their part of the world pleaded with them not to return to civil war since it has caused the death of millions of Sudanese.
He also urged rebel leader, Riek Machar, and 3 other vice presidents to stick by any peace agreement they’ve signed and commit to forming a unity government in May 2019.
“I am asking you as a brother to stay in peace. I am asking you with my heart, let us go forward. There will be many problems but they will not overcome us. Resolve your problems”, Pope Francis stated.
