23 suspected criminals including alleged sex workers have been arrested in the the Northern Region of Ghana by the police.
Amongst the arrested individuals are six females alleged to be sex workers, who operate at night clubs in Tamale, a wee peddler and some suspected criminals.
According to the Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr Mohammed Yussif Tanko, investigations are still ongoing to process them for court.
ASP Yussif Tanko mentioned that just as business activities are expected to increase during Christmas, it is likely that the rate of crime would also increase.
He therefore assured the general public of their full commitment to arrest criminals, to help halt criminal activities in the Region.
