Hans Kwofie’s brace was enough to share spoils with Accra Heart of Oak in their first home game on matchday two of the Ghana Premier at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday 24 November 2020.
The visitors were strong from the blast of the referee’s whistle as they dominated the midfield during halftime of the game. The home team defense were strong enough to hold the pressure from the attack of the miners but the phobians managed to take a halftime lead.
The Obuasi-based club came closer to scoring in the 10 minute but Richard Attah in post for Hearts, produced a magnificent save to punch the ball to touch after Yaw Annor had made a good run and shot at goal.
On the 16 minute mark, Obeng Jnr got his head to the ball inside the Ashgold territory after a cross from the left by Raddy Ovouka but goalkeeper Robert Dabou was equal to the task for the visitors with a good save.
Hearts took the lead on the 33 minute by Kojo Obeng Junior after he took advantage of a blunder by the Ashgold defence. On 57 minutes, the visitors equalized through experience striker, Hans Kwofie after a quick break from the right to set up the striker for a cool finish.
Kojo Obeng Junior got his second goal on the 80 minutes after a blistering solo effort on the right flank by Razak Patrick found the striker in the box who connected with his head to give the continental club masters yet another lead.
At the dieing embers of the game on 90 minute plus 3 minutes additional time, Hans Kwofie got the second equaliser for Ashgold which ended in a 2- 2 draw.
