Accra Hearts of Oak turns 108 years old today

Professional Sports Club based in Accra, Hearts of Oak is 108 years old today. Hearts of Oak nicknamed Phobia have contributed immensely to Ghana football at large and have produced many national football heroes.

Notable among them are former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah, Coach Mohammed Polo, Coach Sellas Tetteh, Charles Asampong Taylor, Emmanuel Osei Kuffour, Prince Taggoe, Mahatma Otoo, goalkeeper Sammy Adjei, Anthony Annan, Bernard Don Botey, Shamo Quaye and Eric Gawu.

Accra Hearts of Oak SC which plays in Ghana’s top flight league has also won countless number of laurels since it was founded on the 11th of November, 1911. These include twenty Ghana Premier League titles, a record 10 FA cups, 2 President Cups and two CAF continental titles.
