AFCON 2019: Government to fly 100 supporters to Egypt

The Government of Ghana will fly 100 supporters to Egypt 2019 to support the Senior National Team the Black Stars.

During an interview on Asempa FM on the Sport Nite Show, Communication Director for the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Elvis Adjei Baah reaveled that government has intensions to fly supporters.

“First and foremost, we all know the importance of this AFCON. Government, especially the President is looking forward to the Stars to break the genes. Government is putting in place measures through the ministry”.

Mr. Adjei mentioned that supporters are one element in football; we can’t  go without it and this year our focus is to win this tournament. Hence, there is a need to mobilize supporters to support the Black Stars. 

He stated that the last time the minister met the National Supporters Union (NSU) which is now unified, we made them understand that for now, the government in collaboration with the help of other sponsors will try and fly about 100 supporters.

He continued that as it stand now, government will try to support 100 National Supporters Union members led by their President Abraham Boakyei known in football circles as One man supporter to ensure that the stars get all the maximum support”
