The Director of Communications at the Seat of the presidency, Eugene Arhin has taken to Facebook to debunk a false publication by the Herald that the president has been flown out for treatment in the UK.
The Information Ministry announced yesterday that the president has gone for a self-isolation for 14 days upon the advice of medical experts as a precautionary measure and will be working from the presidential villa at the Jubilee House in Accra.
The Herald alleged in an online publication today that preparations are underway for Nana Akufo-Addo to be flown out of the country to receive treatment after he contracted the dreaded coronavirus.
However, Eugene Arhin has implored Ghanaians to disregard the publication claiming it’s a figment of the author’s imagination.
”Kindly disregard the FALSE STORY published by the Herald Newspaper to the effect that the President was on Saturday “flown out of the country to London for COVID-19 treatment”. It is clearly a figment of the author’s imagination.
The President is in the country, and he’s currently at the Presidential Villa in Jubilee House, observing the 14-day self-isolation precautionary measure, in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.” he noted.
