Astute football and boxing commentator Mohammed Amin Lamptey has cautioned Isaac Dogbe on his upcoming WBO Super Bantamweight title defence against Japan’s Hidenori Otake on August 25th.

Whilst reacting to questions during an interview on Asempa FM, Mohammed reiterated that the fight is very important for Isaac and his team. “Looking at the preparation, motivation and excitement, I hope we are in for a fight but Otake is not a push over. We need to very cautious in our optimism”

When asked if Isaac will win, Mr. Lamptey said “…in boxing, there’s nothing like a done deal. Boxing is a game of uncertainties. Yes, you can look at a boxer and make your predictions but a punch can change everything. Yes, Hidenori Otake became a professional boxer in 2005, I agree. He has fought 36 times with 2 losses, 3 draws and 31 wins by way of knock-out. He is 37 years of age, but it depends on his chemistry and game plan. Mind you, Japanese are very disciplined when it comes to their diets and physical abilities.

Mr Lamptey also stated that Isaac Dogbe is one of the fastest young Ghanaian boxers and with six years, he has been able to achieve a lot and get to the top as a World Super Bantam Weight Champion. It is important because Isaac has gone through the ranks as a professional boxer. I remember in 2016, he had the chance to fight against Edward Kakambo and Julian Juvarisito. Then came Havehasta in 2017 in the Bukom Boxing Arena. If he wins this fight, there is a possibility that he is going to have a unification bout” he added.
