Former Asante Kotoko defender and captain Amos Frimpong has made a passionate appeal to Kotoko supporters as he makes his debut with his new club.
The experienced defender joined the Techiman based club Eleven Wonders on a year deal after returning to Ghana following a short stint in Guinea.
The veteran defender is expected to use his enormous experience on the local scene to help sustain their Premier League status.
Speaking to Gye Nyame Fm, Amos said, “he’s honored to be playing his first competitive game for Eleven Wonders against his former club Asante Kotoko”
“We are very ready for Asante Kotoko, each player is adhering to the coaches instructions” he added.
In his appeal he said “Most of my fans are Asante Kotoko supporters and I’m pleading on them to at least support me because we need the points than they do. Even though they are Kotoko fans, they should support me for just today and resume their support for Kotoko afterwards”
”I will definitely score a goal tomorrow but I will raise my hands in forgiveness and decline any form of celebration” Amos concluded.
Frimpong spent a decade at Kotoko where he led them to multiple titles including the Ghana Premier League and the FA Cup.
He left the Porcupine Warriors in 2019 to join Guinean outfit AS Kaloum FC.
However, his first campaign in the West African country was ended prematurely by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Eleven Wonders lie 15th on the Ghana Premier League table, just two points adrift of relegation
