Asante Kotoko comm. manager debunks ‘wicked’ Baretto Islamic comments

Acting Communications manager who doubles as a personal assistant to the CEO of the club, David Obeng Nyarko has debunked widespread media publications that suggest coach Mariano Baretto declined a request by Muslim players of the club.

Coach Baretto is reported to have told the players to excuse themselves from his training regimes if they find it too difficult to cope with in this holy month of Ramadan claiming that it is not compulsory to fast.

However, David Obeng Nyarko in a Facebook post has quashed the allegations, labelling it as wicked and fake.

According to him, coach Baretto has many years experience in Saudi Arabia and wouldn’t make unhealthy comments to cast slur on Islamic religion.

Below is the full post by David Obeng Nyarko:

Fellow warriors, Kindly disregard the wicked lies being purported that our Muslim players met with Coach Barreto in relation to Ramadan and training to which the Coach made certain pronouncements.

  1. There was never such a meeting and Coach Barreto has not made any statement in relation to the matter at stake to the players.
  2. Coach Barreto with his experience in coaching (3yrs coaching experience in Saudi Arabia ) wouldn’t make such a comment or whatsoever.

Fake stories like these are just ploys to get us distracted and bring down our progress. Let’s please stay focus.
