Administrative Manager of AshantiGold SC, Seth Boakye Agyemang says the target of the club is to participate in the CAF inter-club competition next season.
In an interview with Enoch Worlanyo Wallace on Accra-based Asempa FM, Boakye Agyemang intimated that the aim is to win the MTN FA Cup or the Ghana Premier League title to qualify for either CAF Champions League or the Confederations Cup.
Seth Boakye admitted that the club’s major challenge is the limited source of revenue which solely comes from bankroller, Dr. Kwaku Frimpong as a result of the decision to play behind closed doors by the GFA.
“Let me also applaud our sponsor Betway they have been of enormous help in these trying times to support us.
“The FA and the ministry through the Covid-19 relief fund has also helped us but it has not to been easy however we hope the restrictions of supporters from watching matches will be lifted to raise revenue from that aspect,” he concluded.
The Miners were crashed out of the 2020/21 CAF Confederations Cup following the 2-1 away defeat to Salitas of Burkina Faso after the first leg fixture ended 0-0 in the preliminary round of the competition.
