This advice has come at a time when students of the higher learning institution accused the Vice-Chancellor of oppressing students and impeding on their rights, and has been nicknamed “Kumasi Adolf Hitler” by some students.
This led to a peaceful protest last Monday where students were on their way to present a petition to the VC. However, things turned violent after the students damaged dozens of cars and properties.
Prof. Obiri Danso met the student leaders to deliberate on issues that led to the violent protests. However, it appears to have been too little too late.
Prof. Obiri Danso, the 12th Vice-Chancellor of KNUST, has been under pressure since the violent protest to resign.
