“Top Skanka” hitmaker and award-winner dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy will be leaving Zylofon Media after his contract expires early this year.
It is no secret that the artiste who signed on to ZylofonMedia in 2017 has not been happy with the way things were done in the label, especially with regards to management of his career. It all began when his fiercest rival turned label mate, Shatta Wale joined the Zylofon train.
Out of anger, he wanted to leave in breach of his contract according to close sources, but was persuaded to stay on while his contract was being reviewed.
Mr. Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, PRO for Zylofon Media, in an interview on Kumasi-based Abusua FM confirmed that the artiste will definitely leave ZylofonMedia early this year when his contract expires.
He also revealed that the discussion to review contracts of some artistes has come up for discussions but Zylofon Media only reviewed that of Stonebwoy, leaving him with only 3 months to break free.
“Stonebwoy’s contract was reviewed from four years to a year. In May 2019 his contract with Zylofon Music will expire. But all other artistes’ contracts remain at four year”, he said.
