The Ghana Medical Association stated that they are fully conscious of the threat posed by this pandemic and how disturbing it would be should there be a community outbreak.

They further confirmed Ghana’s obvious inadequate capacity (logistics and human resource) to handle COVID-19 should it spread within communities.

In lieu of these reasons, the Ghana Medical Association have asked the President to declare a nationwide lock down except for essential services with immediate effect.

The statement signed by the President Dr. Frank Ankobea and the General Secretary Dr. Justice Yankson ended by calling on Ghanaians to support such a move which will go a long way to save Ghana from the devastating effect of coronavirus.
