CORONAVIRUS: Ghana Tourism Authority closes all beaches with immediate effect

The Ghana Tourism Authority has ordered the closure of all beaches in the country on the back of the outbreak of the coronavirus in Ghana.

In a press release by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MoTAC), all beaches are to close to the public until further notice.

The release futher stated that; “The GTA with the support of National Security and the Ghana Police Service will begin patrols of the beaches from Tuesday 24th March 2020 to ensure compliance with the closure order.

A video surfaced on social media yesterday showing some patrons on the Tema Titanic beach having so much fun and feeling the sea breeze. The video looked so scary as it gave no regards to social distancing, something the President has advised Ghanaians to adopt in order to curb the spread of coronavirus.

The release further urged tourist business operators to be mindful of the precautionary measures announced by the President of Ghana.
