FBI to assist Ghana Police get to the bottom of Ahmed Hussein-Suale’s death?

         US Congressman Hank Johnson

The recent murder of Ahmed Hussein-Suale, an associate of award winning journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas has attracted world wide attention and condemnation , with many international media houses including BBC, VOA, CNN and Al-Jazeera reporting the news.

It’s in this view that US Congressman, Hank Johnson has written a letter to the US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo to request that the US government joins in investigating the murder of the undercover journalist who worked with Tiger Eye PI until his death on Wednesday evening.

Hank feels that for the sake of press freedom, the US must deploy its security agencies to support Ghana with intelligence among other resources to investigate the murder.

Mr. Johnson in his letter is also pleading that the US government considers placing sanctions including a travel ban against the Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong whose reckless utterance might have had an influence or otherwise in the murder of Ahmed.

He also suggested the application of banking and other applicable sanctions on Kennedy Agyapong, who he said “urged violence against the journalist prior to his murder.”

Hank Johnson is the U.S. Representative for Georgia’s 4th congressional district and added in his letter that the value of Ahmed Suale’s work and America’s principles of freedom of the press warrant that it gets involved to promptly investigate the matter.
