Management of Midlands Savings and Loans Ltd have taken a decision to suspend 5 members of staff who stood aloof, watching as a female customer of their institution was being brutalized by a police officer on duty.

“Management has commenced investigations into the matter and all those involved will be dealt with in accordance with the law. We do not approve of what happened and condemn it in no uncertain terms. “We have been to her house; we have called the number she provided in our database but it is either someone picks and says she is not around or the phone is off. We want to apologise to her. We are deeply sorry for what happened,” Mr Mensah added.

Ms. Patience Osafo, a nursing mother and the woman at the center of the brutal assault from a police officer received a lot of attention and sympathy after a video of herself being beaten up by L/Cpl Amanor, surfaced and went viral on social media under 2 hours on Friday 20th July, 2018.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo during an official tour in the Northern Region at the time of the incident has condemned the act and has oven his full support to the IGP on any decision he takes.

In his statement, the President said “I want to say it here that policemen are meant to protect citizens and not assault them.”

“I support 100 per cent the measures that he has taken, so that we can stop these incidents from proliferating,”

Ms. Patience Osafo is a mother of three with a grandchild from an epileptic daughter.
