Forget the critics; Shatta Wale is a Grammy nominee – Here is why

    The Recording Academy for Grammy Awards have compiled a list of nominees who will battle it out for laurels during the 62nd Grammy Awards.

    The announcement was made yesterday on CBS by President/CEO Deborah Dugan, Academy Chair of the Board of Trustees, producer Harvey Mason Jr., together with host Alicia Keys and Bebe Rexha. The program will take place on the 26th of January, 2020

    And God being so good, Ghanaian dancehall King, Shatta Wale technically got a nomination through Beyonce’s ‘The Lion King; The Gift’ album which has been nominated for the ‘Best Pop Vocal Album’, Best Compilation Soundtrack For Visual Media and Best Song Written For Visual Media among others.

    However, critics of arguably Ghana’s biggest artiste at the moment, Shatta Wale, have come out to debunk reports of his nomination.

    To clear the air on this, let me explain that El-Shatta is technically a nominee since he contributed to the album which has his ‘Already’ track with Beyonce on it.

    And it isn’t Shatta Wale alone; every other artiste who Beyonce featured on the album is technically a nominee; these include other African acts like WizKid, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Mr. Eazi, Busiswa, Tekno and Salatiel.

    An elated Shatta Wale has already promised to throw a big party if Beyonce wins any of the categories.
