Former GIPC boss/ MP George Kwame Aboagye dies at 70

An ex CEO of the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC), George Kwame Aboagye is dead.

Dr. Kwame Aboagye died this morning at the Cape Coast Regional Hospital in the Central Region after a short illness with just a day to his 70th birthday. 

He was the Chief Executive of the GIPC under the Atta-Mills administration between 2009 and 2012.

Dr. Aboagye is a former NDC Member of Parliament for the Ahanta West Constituency in the Western Region and is the current National Democratic Congress Parliamentary Candidate.

He reportedly complained of ill health last week on his way from his hometown Busua to Accra. He was then rushed to the Cape Coast Regional Hospital where he receiving treatment for mild stroke until his untimely death. 

He is survived by a wife and four children.
