Former UN Secretary General Kofi Annan dies at 80 in Switzerland

Mr. Kofi Annan, former Secretary-General of the United Nations and immediate past Chancellor of the University of Ghana has passed on at age 80. 

Kofi Atta Annan who was a Ghanaian diplomat served as the seventh Secretary-General of the United Nations for a period of 2 (5 year) terms from December 1996 to January 2007. 

Mr. Kofi Annan is a Nobel Peace Prize winner for humanitarian work. He died early Saturday morning in a private hospital in Bern, Switzerland. He is survived by a wife and 3 children; Kojo, Ama and Nina.
