GFA Presidential aspirant George Afriyie has tipped Kwaku Eyiah, George Amoako, Dr. Tony Obeng and Otuo Acheampong Barimah Boadu to be elected onto the Executive Committee of the new Football administration.
Speaking during his recent interview with Prof. E. K. Wallace on Asempa FM’s Sportsnite Show, Mr. George Afriyie was of the view that the gentlemen whom he has mentioned have the requisite experience to run football in Ghana.
He said; “…well for now, Kwaku Eyiah for instance, I know people have to vote for him; I also see someone like George Amoako being voted for; I also see Dr. Tony Obeng being voted for”.
Addressing his choice of names, he said that they are part of his team, hence it is only fair that he canvases for votes for them.
Aspirant George Afriyie also reiterated the need for a collective effort from all other stakeholders to make the administration of football in Ghana successful.
According to him, some groups like past and present Black Stars players, past and present referees and some other experienced football administrators who are not contesting for positions will be needed board.
Buttressing his point, he stated how good it would look like if a young footballer receives a call from legend, Michael Essien, just to encourage and share his experiences with the young lad.
Mr. George Afriyie is contesting in the GFA Presidential race alongside 5 other contestants which include Kurt E. S. Okraku, Nana Yaw Acheampong, Amanda Clinton, George Mensah and Fred Pappoe.
