Even as Ghana continues to put measures in place to fight the 2019 novel Coronavirus disease, the number of confirmed cases continue to rise.

The number of confirmed cases began to rise just after routine surveillance began as people who have had contacts with confirmed COVID-19 patients are being traced and tested.

The latest figure comes just hours after 20 cases were confirmed from a construction site in the Eastern Region. According to sources, the 20 infected persons contacted the virus from an Indian expatriate on site.

Ghana continues to close her borders and has extended the 2 weeks lockdown of Greater Accra and Greater Kumasi by an additional 1 week.
