Great Ampong fumes at Gov’t over Abeiku Santana’s Covid-19 Ambassadorial Appointment

Ghanaian gospel musician, Great Ampong has questioned the appointment of Abeiku Santana as a COVID-19 Trust Fund Ambassador.

Speaking on Neat Fm, he questioned those saying Abeiku Santana deserves the appointment because of his popularity.

According to Great Ampong, he is more popular than Abeiku Santana so people can’t use popularity to justify the appointment.

He explained that when it comes to popularity, the Okay Fm presenter is only relevant in Accra and on social media but he, Ampong is popular everywhere including the hinterlands.

He said in the year 2012, during the campaign season, Abeiku insulted the then NPP flag bearer.

He said at a rally hosted at the Efua Sutherland park, he, great Ampong mounted stage and got massive applause from the partisan crowd.

After the rally, Great Ampong said he heard Abeiku Santana insult Akufo-Addo on Okay Fm that, NPP should’ve made Great Ampong the flag bearer and not Akufo-Addo.

“Abeiku Santana said NPP made a mistake electing Akufo-Addo because the reception I got at the rally compared to that of flag bearer means I’m more popular than Akufo-Addo” – Great Ampong revealed.

Great Ampong holds the view, the statement from Abeiku Santana was an insult to Akufo-Addo so he has no business accepting the appointment from his government.
