Speaking during a telephone conversation with professor E. K. Wallace on Sportsniteleaks show on Asempa FM, Mr. Amartey stated that himself and his lawyer are preparing to take another action (go to court or player status commission) to implement the labour commission’s ruling.

According to him, he dragged the issue to the labour commission explaining that he has worked for Hearts of Oak for 22 years. But they only started paying his social security when the club was on flotation. He got employed on the 6th of September 1996; and up till 2002, his social security was not paid by the club to SNIIT

However, he revealed that management laid him off about four years ago. He was given a letter that his contract has been terminated and he will be paid only two years salary which he refused.

He referred the matter to labour commission for hearing. They enquired from the club as to why his contract was terminated. Their response was that he had portrayed bad habits and poor performance, leading to his contract termination.

He added that Hearts of Oak couldn’t provide any evidence against him at the labour commission.

Hence, the why were asked to pay his two years salary and his social security to SNIIT which the club has since failed to do so.
