In a revealing interview, dancehall champion, Shatta Wale, has indicated that organizers of the Zero Borla Concert first contacted him to headline the event. But the money they were offering was below his usual charge.
According to Shatta Wale, the organizers were willing to pay him GHc150,000 for the Zero Borla Concert; but he turned it down. He recently revealed in an earlier interview that he charges more than any other artiste in Ghana for a show; that is GHc300,000 ($70,000).
Speaking during an exclusive interview with Fiifi Prat on Rainbow Radio today which was monitored by societywatch.net, Shatta Wale added that he later got information that the money was shared amongst a number of artiste to perform. Unfortunately for them, the show didn’t live up to its billing as they recorded poor attendance.
He said; “Organizers were ready to pay me GHc150,000 for the Zero Borla Concert. But I turned it down. I later realized that the money was shared for lots of artistes on the bill; and people didn’t come for that show”.
Shatta Wale added that despite the fact that he loves money, he won’t accept just ‘any show’ which is likely to endanger his strongly built brand.
“I like money but I just don’t accept any show that will endanger my brand”, Shatta Wale said.
societywatch.net carried the story of the poorly attended Zero Borla Concert which was headlined by Shatta Wale’s ‘brother’, Stonebwoy.
