“I was almost raped by some pastors; so I stopped attending church” – Top Ghanaian model reveals ordeal


Top Ghanaian model, Gloria Edem Fairre, who is currently touring Ghana with her Edem Fairre Foundation to educate people on depression and anxiety has revealed the reason why she stopped attending church.

Edem was recently sworn in as a UN Youth Ambassador for her works. And during her exclusive interview with GHKwaku, Edem shared her story of how she had to endure robbery incidents, difficult times and even having to escape rape after some Pastor on different occasions tried to take advantage of her. 

These issues and more she faced growing up dipped her into dire depression to the point that she decided to take her own life. 

She said, ” I tried to kill myself. I was robbed and almost killed, I sold on the streets. I felt like I was a burden to so many people. I felt so worthless.” 

“I’ve had some attempted rape cases with pastors, the more reason I was refusing to go to church”.

Edem launched her “Depression and anxiety” project with her foundation; the Edem Fairre Foundation some weeks ago inside Airport view hotel.
