The head coach of Ebusua Dwarfs, Ernest Thompson has narrated how Berekum Chelsea supporters beat him on matchday 20 of the 2020/21 Ghana premier league at the Berekum Golden City Park.
Narrating his ordeal to Kwadwo Mensah Moshoosho on Asempa FM, he intimated that he was beaten like a thief.
“Upon my entrance to the dressing room, they shouted we want to search you if there is juju on you. If I say they manhandled me then am not telling the truth because they beat me like a thief”.
Coach Ernest Thompson added that the police at the time watched sheepishly as the over 30 supporters gave him the beating of his life.
“When they saw nothing they left me on the floor. Our assistant coach went to tell my people to come to my aid. All because I dominated them and scored them and the policemen were watching. After leading in the first half they threatened to beat the referee,” he reiterated.
Ebusua Dwarfs relinquished their first half lead to Berekum Chelsea following an equaliser by Stephen Badu on the 53rd minute and a late winner on the 83rd minute by Kofi Owusu.
