The relationship between Ghanaian singer, Rebecca Acheampong, and her biological mother Julie Yiadom-Oti, seems to have gone sour as the former has referred to her mother as a witch.
Together with her Nigerian husband, they have succeeded in banishing her from their marital home; she therefore can’t act as a mother should in the home of her married daughter.
Madam Julie has revealed she was not even allowed to partake in her own daughter’s wedding. According to her, they did not allow her to take part in the preparation through to the final day where she was even sidelined as a ‘common floor member’.
She revealed how it has always been her dream to be massively involved in her daughter’s wedding. That dream, however, did not materialize, though her daughter is aware that she had that wish.
She stated that she was sidelined during the wedding, as if she isn’t part of the family. Also, instead of being given a seat at where family members were seated, she was rather made to sit at the back.
She said; “I told my sister, I’m very uncomfortable with where we’re seating because I know as a mother I have to be at the forefront…”
“It was very very sad. That moment I didn’t know what to do, whether I should just cry, I didn’t know what to do because this should have been a special day for me.
“In my life, I’ve always been dreaming that I have to be a big part of my daughter’s wedding, and she knew. I told her that when its time for your wedding let me feel proud as a mother,” Becca’s mum recalled.
