Award-winning Afropop/dancehall/reggae act, Stonebwoy, has expressed his willingness to sing in Chinese if he is challenged.
Stonebwoy was on Kumasi-based Luv Fm where he explained that it will all boil down to how ready he is to avail himself for such a hideous task and once he makes up his mind and is able to study, he is positive he can do it.
He said “Give me three months and I will study and be able to sing in Chinese”.
Stonebwoy’s fluency in Patois is unquestionable, and he has revealed that he studied the genre of music he chose to do very hard. Hence, his versatility in Patois which is putting him on the international stage was not achieved on a silver platter.
Stonebwoy said “I learnt it…we had to learn it at a point. We wanted to show ourselves approved because we got attracted to that genres of music. So we had to study to ensure we are fluent in expressing ourselves in that genre of music to which that genre of music is originated”.
