In 2018, Ghana ranked 78th out of 180 countries in the Global Corruption Perception Index; well, that’s for the books.
Well, those are for the books because you and I know perfectly well that the situation on the ground is more damning than meets the eye.
Also, one question that we haven’t been able to answer as Ghanaians for ages is why Ghana has more than 70% of it’s citizens being Christians, but still ranks as one of the most corrupt country’s in the World.
And this is the same question lingering on the mind of Australian High Commissioner to Ghana, Andrew Barnes.
In a video posted by TV3 and sighted by societywatch.net on Facebook, the diplomat who is also an atheist stated how surprised he is to see Ghana swimming in corruption although Ghana is a Christian country.
He said; “Not only is corruption illegal, but it is also immoral and strongly against Christian teachings.”
“As an atheist, it intrigues me to see that for a strongly Christian country, corruption is such a problem in Ghana,” he added.
