John Dumelo pushes for the legalization of marijuana in Ghana

Award winning Ghanaian actor, John Dumelo has stated that the Government of Ghana should legalize marijuana.

According to the popular actor, marijuana possess so many medical advantages, and the country could benefit from its legalization.

“When you go to some of the western countries, it [Marijuana] has been legalised for health purposes and we can also do same. If alcohol and cigarettes are legal in Ghana, why not marijuana”, the actor stated.

The actor also revealed that there could be measures to control its abuse if our Ghanaian authorities put up structures and measures to prevent the drug from being abused.

He also disclosed that Canada legalised marijuana in October 2018 and put up measures to prevent people from abusing the drug.

The actor who is also an entrepreneur stated that the legalisation of marijuana will not increase crime rates and mental illness in the country but can be used for medicinal purposes.

“If you look at places like Holland, California and Colorado where the drug has been legalized, crime rates are low”, he stated.
