Man sues Safaribet after their refusal to pay him his millions of Cedis bet earnings

Man demands his bet earnings from Safaribet

One Theophilus Morgan, a client of Safaribet who won over GHC 57M in betting proceeds has taken the gaming company to court after their refusal to pay him what is due him. 

Morgan also sued the Ghana Gaming Commission, demanding his full winnings to be paid to him, plus interest.

Morgan’s won a whooping GHC 57M in November 2018 on a bet. According to him, he staked 220 different bets of GHC 1 each, won GHC 286,000 on each bet. 

However, Safaribet is refusing to pay him his entire GHC 57M winnings. They have rather offered to pay him only one of his betting slips on the condition that he signs a waiver, forfeiting the rest of the slips numbering 219.

Morgan, on the other hand refused to do so, making Safaribet to also refuse to pay him. He petitioned the Gaming Commission to force Safaribet to pay him but they have failed to make any progress.

He is left with no other option than to seek legal action. He has hired the services of legal luminary Gaisie Zwennes Hughes & Co to proceed with the suit to enable him retrieve his money.

The case will begin on April 16th 2019.
