Mariano Baretto calls on referees to be fair

Former Black Stars and Meteors coach, Mariano Baretto has called on referees to protect the integrity of the game by being fair.

The Portuguese gaffer in a post-match interview after his side defeated Berekum Chelsea in Obuasi Len Clay Stadium remarked that the player who injured Ibrahim Imoro deserved a straight red card.

He added that the porcupine warriors were denied two clear penalties and however failed to make further comments on the penalty awarded to his opponents due to the absence of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) technology.

Asante Kotoko recorded their second consecutive victory in new home venue Obuasi, after beating Brong Ahafo sides, Bechem United by 4 goals to nil on Wednesday and two unanswered goals against Berekum Chelsea on Sunday.

Asante Kotoko are now on top of the league table by 34 points after 19 rounds of matches in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League.
