In a counter-press conference, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has replied the National Democratic Congress (NDC) over the latter’s accusations on the ruling government in matters concerning gold dealership company Menzgold.

At a press conference on Wednesday, NDC’s Communications Officer Sammy Gyamfi accused the government for contributing in a way to the loss of millions of Ghana Cedis belonging to the ordinary Ghanaian by Menzgold Ghana Limited.

Mr. Gyamfi alleged amongst other things that the government had a hand in smuggling Nana Appiah Mensah out of the country without the knowledge of our security agencies.

Addressing a counter press conference, Communications Director for the ruling NPP, Mr. Yaw Buaben Asamoah explained that Ghanaians are more discerning now than before to believe the “lies” and “propaganda” from the NDC.

“Twenty years ago, you could do this propaganda and get away with it,” he stated.

According to the leading executive member of the New Patriotic Party, Menzgold is part of the financial sector crunch the country was plunged into towards the end of the erstwhile NDC government.
