Head coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo and player Felicity Asante, both of Berry ladies have been named Nasco coach and player of the month for January respectively by the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo was shortlisted and won amongst three other coaches, Joe Nana Adarwah of Ampem Darkoa ladies and Hasacass’ Yusif Basigi for the coveted award.
Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo led Berry ladies to win four matches with no defeat in the month of January, making her team the only WPL side who are yet to be defeated in the Southern zone league, topping the table with 12 points.
Felicity Asante becomes the first player to win such a novel award scheme in the Women’s Premier league after beating competition from Prison Ladies’ Abigail Tutuwaah, Elizabeth Oppong of Thunder Queens and Comfort Yeboah of Ampem Darkwao ladies.
Her outstanding performance from the start of the league in January made her score 4 goals with a hattrick against Soccer Intellectual on matchday two and a goal against Sealions on matchday 3.
