The Minister for Railways Development, Joe Ghartey this week has sent 14 of his workers packing.
This was after they reported late to work.
According to Joe Ghartey his action should be a ‘wake up call’ for all his staff as it won’t be a one day incident.
“It was a wake-up call and I will monitor their response which I believe will be positive,” he said.
The 14 people sacked comprised nine permanent staff and five national service personnel.
However based on his action, it has been reported all the 14 people reported to work on time the next day.
He also mentioned that although his staff have been working hard since he was appointed last year, he is still requesting them to work harder.
According to him one worker who explained that she has been coming late because she lives on the outskirt of the town has been asked to apply for a transfer.
