Trends have changed as Ghanaian Celebrities have turned to more “profitable” activities as part of their birthday celebrations.
Instead of the throwing the usual big parties, some have engaged in socially profitable ventures with the most recent being John Dumelo, and now, Moesha Buduong.
Professional ashawo celebrity, Moesha Buduong, turned 28 on March 10, 2019 and she fulfilled one long time heart desire. She spent her birthday with pupils of Billaw Basic School where she donated some learning materials to the school.
Doing this through her foundation, the Moesha Foundation donated items like textbooks, branded exercise books, pens, pencils, mathematical sets, snacks, school bags, and other learning materials to the school.
Moesha shared this on instagram where she hammered on the need for every child to have access to education. She further stated that education is a key platform in bridging the gap between the rich and the poor.
Moesha assured the students of Billaw (where she hails from) of her resolve to contribute to their educational progress in her own little way.
“Well there are two things I’ll forever be proud of and continually boast about, that is; who I am and where I come from. Growing up from a Sissala home taught me how to value family and education, respect and be hard-working”, she wrote.
She added that “Compared to other tribes, the sissala’s are not talked about often, however, aside from been located in Upper West Region we are also known for the xylophone, charcoal burning, farming and wearing a smock. Compared to other tribes, you might have heard little or nothing about the Sissalas and so I’ll briefly tell you something about them.”
