The Manager for late highlife musician Anokye Supremo, Isaac Kobina Zakk, has revealed that he will be leaving India today with the body of his late artiste, and would arrive in Ghana on Monday 11th February, 2019.
Speaking on Onua FM’s weekend entertainment talk show “Anigye Mmre”, Kobina revealed that some benevolent Ghanaians helped the family with some money, and they have paid the hospital bills, mortuary bills and airline fare to enable the body of the late Anokye Supremo to be brought to Ghana. His passport was initially seized by the hospital authorities for failing to pay all the hospital bills.
Anokye Supremo, formerly referred to as DL Junior, died in coma after undergoing a successful brain tumor surgery in India.
The late Highlife musician had to change his showbiz name from DL Junior to Anokye Supremo after his idol and Godfather Daddy Lumba filed a lawsuit against him for claiming to be his son and also impersonating him to get gifts from people.
DL Junior was diagnosed with a brain tumor late last year, leading to partial blindness in his left eye. His doctors in Ghana recommended that he be taken to India for a brain surgery to remove the tumor. Unfortunately for him, it took a lot of time before he could gather the required amount needed for the surgery.
