The National Democratic Congress (NDC) have reacted to the ruling of the Supreme Court over the compilation of a new voters’ register by the Electoral Commission.
In an interaction with the media this evening, leaders of the party comprising of flag bearer John Dramani Mahama, Minority leader in Parliament, Haruna Iddrissu, party Chairman, Ofusu Ampofo, General Secretary Asiedu Nketiah and Communications Director, Sammy Gyamfi expressed their dissatisfaction with the ruling of the apex court.
The Supreme Court quashed NDC’s petition for the use of the old voters’ ID’s to be used as a one if the identification requirements for the new register. According to Haruna Idrissu, the ruling of the court is with blurred edges and synthetical ambiguities. However, the ruling if the supreme court rains instructive and therefore has to be observed.
The leader and flag bearer of the party, John Mahama remarked that the NDC is deeply disappointed and strongly disagree with the court over the outcome and has thrown the country into a state of confusion. He added that the legal team if the party are examining the decision as the final decision will be made available on the 15th if July.
