Deputy Coach of the Senior National team the Black Stars and current coach of the Black Meteors, Ibrahim Tanko has assured Ghanaians of not being bias in inviting players to the Black Meteors camp.

He was reacting to questions during an interview with Cape FM 93.3MHz and he mentioned that he will not be unfair in selecting players to the Meteors camp by inviting only Kumasi Asante Kotoko players as reported.

“I know my job, I will not use friends and cronies to do my work. Only players who can help me and the nation will be handed a call up.” Coach Tanko said.

He continued that there is no body who can influence his decision to call his player. If the player is not qualified, he will not be selected so every body should have patience. It is normal for every team to have representatives in the national team.

He however explained that since this is the first time this crop of players are being called into camp, Ghanaians should be patient and rest assured that he will not be bias. He added that he will make sure he fairly distributes the selection of players amongst the teams.

The Black Meteors will face their Togoless opponent in a two legged tie in the first round of the Africa U-23 championship qualifiers. Out of 30 countries lined up for the qualifiers, only seven will join the host country  Egypt for next year’s championship. The first three teams from the competition in Egypt next year will represent Africa at the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020.
