Normalization Committee won’t allow any bad pitches in the Special Competition – Dr. Kofi Amoah

Dr. Kofi Amoah (Head of the Normalization Committee)

President of the GFA Normalization Committee, Dr. Kofi Amoah has assured all Premier League players that only good pitches will be used for the Special Competition to make the game very interesting and attractive.

Most football pitches are in a deplorable state which affects the quality of football. Players find it very difficult to control and swing passes to each other when playing, and it has resulted in low patronage, lack of sponsorship and excitement to the game. These bad pitches also contribute to injury of most domestic players in the league.

Dr. Amoah, speaking in a telephone conversation with Saddick (Sports Obama) Adams stated that the NC has inspected all available pitches in the country and we have the report and know the condition of every pitch. For some of them, there is “nothing to write home about”, so we are selecting the right pitches and will also create venue centers.

“We are in talks with television production to do TV coverage for those who can’t go to the stadium, so that they can also watch the matches in their various home,” he stated.

He added that a budget for media hype has been allocated in the budget for the Special Competition matches.

The media hype is one of the most important aspects of the game which the previous GFA failed to do. Having problems with the media, accusing the media of always talking and writing negative stories about the league.

The Communications department of the NC must also communicate and have a good relationship with the media and the public and relay every issues that the public need to know.

Accountability is also needed in all their work to bring back the glory days of Ghana football.
