The Northern Regional Executive Committee of the New Patriotic Party, has indefinitely suspended all electoral processes.
This includes the election of Polling Station Executives and Electoral Areas Coordinators, in the Bimbilla and Daboya-Mankaragu Constituencies.
The decision was arrived at following security assessment in the two respective constituencies.
It is also in consultation with the party hierarchy and the political heads of the two constituencies.
Not long ago, the Northern Region towns were witnessing chieftaincy and tribal tensions that has led, to the loss of some lives and properties.
The Party therefore thinks it will be proper to postpone all party activities in these towns until the situation is calmed down.
In a similar vein, following series of written petitions and complaints of electoral malpractices and fraud against the current electoral processes in the Nalerigu-Gambaga Constituencies of the Northern Region.
The Regional Executive Committee has decided to intervene, and thus, has suspended the election processes.
Meanwhile, the petitions on the processes has been referred to the Regional Elections Committee for their study and necessary action.
The Regional Executive Committee has urged supporter in the affected constituencies to calm down as it works to put intervening structures in place.
This they say is to allow all qualified and interested party people exercise their democratic rights.
