The minister responsible for the aviation sector, Hon. Joseph Kofi Adda has lost his candidature to Upper East Regional Minister, Hon. Tangoba Abayage to represent the party in 2020 elections.

Aviation Minister Joseph Kofi Adda, who flew a helicopter from Accra to Navrongo to file his nomination forms has crashed out of the NPP primaries as the Upper East Regional Minister Tangoba Abayage has defeated him to represent the party as its parliamentary candidate.


The aviation minister who flew in a helicopter to submit his nominations forms claimed that his opponent was virtually unknown and had no clout to lead the people of Navrongo Central but has received a shocker as he relinquished his position in a slight defeat.

Mr Koffi Adda amassed 269 votes as Mr Abayage had 313 votes in the keen contest. It comes as no surprise as bookmakers predicted a close contest.
