Award winning dancehall act, Shatta Wale, has stated unequivocally that no one in Ghana can be compared to him except one man, ex president JJ Rawlings.

According to the “Island” singer in a Facebook live video made this “bragging” statement in defense of the eight awards he won at the immediate past 3 Music Awards.

Fans from the opposite side (Bhim Natives) were obviously not happy with the number of awards Shatta Wale won as compared to their boss’ three. As a result, they have used any medium available to them to downplay the integrity of the awards scheme.

However, the award organisers have cleared the air, explaining that he won by public votes.

Shatta Wale, in response to his critics even stated that his efforts made President Nana Addo award him a Key to the City.

“…awards are good. The President, Nana Addo, gave me Ghana’s Coat of Arms because I motivate the youth and I am forceful”.

He further stated that “A lot of people compare me to others. But the only person I can be compared to is JJ (Rawlings).”

“…so, if I try and move my career forward and this time, an award scheme come out to recognise me, and allow the public to vote me, allow them to decide. You can’t decide for the people.”
