Pastors/Christians are at liberty to take in alcohol because Christ took in alcohol – Gospel Musician

Don D

Don D, an urban gospel musician has stated that it’s not a sin when Christians or pastors take in alcohol.

The musician was on the Away bus show on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM with Mr. Handsome, when he stated that it’s not a sin for man of God to take in alcohol. But he cautioned that it should not be in excess.

In defending his point, he quizzed that “if a pastor after preaching comes home and feels distressed or unable to sleep and sips in wine or a little amount of alcohol in order for him to sleep, would you consider that as a sin?”

He explained that Jesus Christ who Christians look up to, took alcohol whilst on earth and even quoted a bible quotation to support his position.

He mentioned Luke 7: 34 (“the Son of man came eating and drinking, and u say, here is a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners) to state a strong case over his opinion.

He also quoted 1st Timothy 5:23 which also read: ‘’stop dinking only water, and use a little wine because of your stomach and your frequent illness.’’

These quotations are from the bible and so I cannot be wrong to make the point that that, taking a little wine or alcohol is not a sin, he stated.

He also agreed that he knew some pastors who take in alcohol but he refused to disclose their names. His reasons were because he didn’t want public backlash for these men of God.
