The Honourable Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has been officially invited by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service in connection with the death of Ahmed Hussein-Suale, a right hand man of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas.
The legislator has only been invited as a person of interest in the murder case after a video of Kennedy Agyapong inciting people to beat up the Ahmed anytime he is seen around the premises of Kent City went viral after his murder.
Mr Ahmed Hussein Suale, a journalist with Tiger Eye Private Investigations operated by ace journalist, Anas Aremeyaw Anas, was assassinated in Madina on Wednesday 16th January, 2019 by two gunmen. Hussein-Suale was hit three times, twice in the chest and another in the neck while driving home after work.
According to the CID, it is following all leads, indicating that all persons suspected to be linked to the murder will be invited to assist in the investigations.
Meanwhile, Kennedy Agyapong has already denied knowledge of the murder even before his official invitation to the Police CID headquarters.
Speaking on NEAT FM’s morning show “Ghana Montie” with Kwesi Aboagye, he stated that the young journalist never did him any wrong so he doesn’t understand why he is being linked to his death.
Hon. Agyapong said “A friend called to tell me that there is something trending on social media that I engineered the killing of one Ahmed. First of all, the guy has never offended me in anyway.”
“When I premiered the ‘Who watches the watchman’ at Oman FM premises, I was told that I know Ahmed very well because he has been coming to my station for money. So I ordered them to stop him [Ahmed] from coming there and ‘beat the hell out from him’ because he can fix secret cameras around. This is what I said,” the controversial lawmaker added during the interview.
