Police confirm arrest of 3 Alabar robbers, 4 on the run


The Ghana Police Service has confirmed the arrest of three suspects involved in the daylight robbery in Alabar a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region.

Fear gripped the people of Alabar market on Friday afternoon as a gang of about seven wielding machetes and firing arms riding on three motorbikes to rob some traders at on the street in broad daylight.

The attention of the police was drawn after the unfortunate incident which accounted for the hospitalization of four who sustained severe injuries with one pronounced dead at the Manhyia government hospital.

The police pursued the suspects, arresting three of them identified as Hamza Nuhu 22, who was shot in the leg during the operation during the pursuit and currently on admission at the hospital under police guard.

The others are Salifu Iddrisu, 18 and Ali Razak also 18. They are on detention to assist in police investigation, while manhunt was launched for the arrest of the remaining robbers.
